Adam Touma has made legal advocacy his life’s mission. A criminal defense attorney and managing partner of Touma Law Group, Adam has been voted Best Criminal Defense Attorney in Greenville three times by the readers of the Post and Courier; a reflection of the trust he has earned from the community he serves.
Adam is a South Carolina native, born and raised in Columbia. He attended Cardinal Newman High School. He then attended Clemson University, graduating in 2013 with a degree in History and a minor in psychology, where he also founded a historical research society, before returning to Columbia to attend the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he graduated in 2017 and served as President of the Intellectual Property Society.
In 2018, Adam moved to Greenville to serve as a law clerk for the Honorable Robin B. Stillwell in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit. That experience shaped the way he practices to this day: he learned how a judge views the trial and plea process, how to evaluate arguments in the courtroom, and how to avoid the common mistakes trial attorneys make. He also learned the intricacies of sentencing and plea negotiation as well as garnering valuable experience assisting in the courtroom and dealing with juries.
Following his clerkship, Adam became an Assistant Public Defender, representing hundreds of people throughout Greenville County. There he learned the ins and outs of the Greenville County Courthouse and built deep experience defending clients against prosecution. Adam is admitted to practice law in both South Carolina state courts and Federal court. He brings that Experience and his drive for defending others to every case he handles at Touma Law Group. He has handled cases from DUI all the way to Murder.
Adam has also served in the Army’s Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps as a First Lieutenant, where he defended Soldiers in military legal matters, advised senior Army officials, and worked on criminal and civil cases.
Adam is a practicing Catholic and a parishioner at St. Mary Magdalene. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym, reading, hiking, visiting with his family, spending time with his dog, Arno and girlfriend, Cyann. Most of all, Adam enjoys getting great results for his clients and seeing his firm thrive.
