Stuart practices in his hometown in Greenville, South Carolina and has extensive experience representing clients who are facing trial on a variety of criminal charges ranging from drug trafficking to felony DUI, criminal conspiracy, murder, and other serious crimes. After graduating from Furman University with dual degrees in information technology and Asian studies, Stuart moved away from Greenville for the first time in 2007 and took a job teaching English at a university in Suzhou, China. It was there that he met his wife Elizabeth, who was raised in Pickens, and the two came home a year later so that Stuart could go to law school.
After passing the bar exam in 2011, Stuart moved back to Greenville and began his career as a public defender trying 30-day offenses in magistrate court. He honed his trial skills over the next decade trying dozens of cases in front of a jury and won acquittals on murder charges twice, once for a client wrongfully accused of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, and in trials for driving under the influence, home invasion, and many other felony and misdemeanor crimes.
After leaving the public defender office, Stuart went into private practice and opened a law office as a solo practitioner focused primarily on criminal defense. He joined the Touma Law Group in 2024 as Of Counsel in the Greenville office representing clients in both federal and state court in a variety of criminal and civil litigation matters.
